If your blog is more politically focused, write in the voice that you feel is appropriate. You want to make sure that you aren't too stuffy, because most people don't read blogs as an academic source. If you have a stuffy voice, people won't relate and won't want to read your blogs. Make sure that your writing style is clear and understandable.

If you want to have a lot of consistent readers, make sure that you update your blog. If you don't have time any given day, you can have a guest blogger, or you can post some photos that you like. Your posts don't have to be long, but make sure you keep your posts consistent!

3. Make sure that you submit your blog to different search engines. If you want to really up your traffic, make sure that you submit your blog's url to the engines. Search engines often provide a “submit” link so that you can notify the engine of the presence of your new blog. This will allow for the search engine to crawl your page and you will be able to get more traffic.

4. Allow readers to comment. If you have readers that start to comment, take advantage of that! Respond quickly and show your readers that you value their comments. Another thing that you can do to make sure that yur comments are valuable, is to start commenting on other blogs. This will allow for you to find other blogs and potentially, other readers! Make sure that you make great comments that will make people want to follow your blog.
