Zim&Zou are cutting, folding and gluing to give rise to colorful and intricate paper sculptures.
Zim&Zou is duo composed of Lucie THOMAS and Thibault ZIMMERMANN, two french artists, based in Dordogne, France. They studied graphic design (design, advertising, publishing) for three years, then they decided to create in the offline world and focus on installations producing handcrafted objects made out of materials such as paper, wood, and others. Dedicated in their craftsmanship, the two artists create all the elements composing their installations meticulously by hand, from drawing the blueprints, to cutting and assembling.
Their favorite crafting material is the paper, which they manipulating to give rise to intricate and colorful sculptures. Paper is known to inspires artist to create using its unique textures, infinite range of colors, patterns and versatility, the flat paper sheets are turned into volume are giving an installation the poetry of a creative composition.
