Facebook changes it's Messenger app logo icon using a combination of pink and bluish gradient, inspired by the Instagram's colorful vibes.
For the first time in seven years, the social media giant is rolling out an update that will infuse vibrant tones into the message bubble icon. Facebook Messenger app logo design brings a refreshed and colorful facelift, the new updated Messenger app icon will combine some of the vibrant sunburst gradient tones from the Facebook-owned Instagram app while retaining the familiar Facebook’s light sky blue hue, signaling that the chat app will be integrated with Instagram.
This welcome change symbolize the parent company’s strategy to evolve the platform beyond the simple text exchanges.
About the design
The new icon ditches its vivid sky blue for a blue-violet-pink gradient, more in the tone and style of Instagram. Facebook said that new logo reflects a shift to the future of messaging, a more simple, fun and dynamic integrated way to stay connected to people.
“Today, Messenger gets a new look to mark our continued evolution from a simple way to message your Facebook friends, to a place to hang out with your favorite people, on your favorite apps and devices,” Facebook said.
Note that the integrated cross-app communication with Instagram is expected to roll out shortly, first to North American users.
