Lauren Hom is a fantastic New York-based designer and letterer that teaches art classes, she is known for her quirky and playful typography with a bright color palette.

In her portfolio we will find some big names such as Starbucks, Google, AT&T, YouTube and TIME Magazine. On her Instagram, Lauren posts images of her lettering on murals, cards, posters and many more. Hom is also the author of Daily Dishonesty, a popular lettering project that she started online and developed into a blog and a book. The inspiration of many of her creative projects comes from vintage objects found on places she travels, and also hand-painted signage, colorful buildings, and local textures and patterns.

As artists ourselves, what we appreciate the most in Lauren's art is that she's playful with her typography, as she's just a child that plays with the shapes of letters, like she doesn't have the specific type-imposed boundaries, but we recognize that years of practice will get you this result. That is what we recommend to the upcoming artists all around the globe, and can't stress this enough, practice!

A notably personal fun project she made was Flour Crowns, featuring some carby crowns from her favorite starchy snacks (crackers, bread, cookies, chips, pastries), where she poses like the queen she is, combined with some exquisite fashion taste, feast your eyes!
