When you’re a student, you have one main goal in mind: obtaining valuable skills that will get you far in life. Maybe you’re not sure what career you want to pursue, or you already set your mind to something. Whatever your choice is at the moment, you can only benefit from online web design courses.

Keep this to mind, though: not all web development e-learning content is created equal. If you’re going to invest time in this course, you should choose it well.

We’ll list four online courses on web development, which will meet your expectations as a beginner learner.

1. The Complete 2019 Web Development Course - Build 15 Projects

This is an extensive beginner course that goes through several stages. You’ll start from zero point and you’ll build up to a more skilled developer by the end of it. It is a huge course that contains almost 90 hours of on-demand video, as well as 173 resources that you can download and use whenever you want them. You will pay only once, and you’ll have life-time access to all resources.

Udemy gives you a certificate of completion for this course.

Its regular price is $199.99. But Udemy is great with its discount, so you should keep an eye on them. Currently, the course is offered at just $10.44. For this level of content, nothing beats that price. It’s such an extensive resource that it can fully prepare you for the good career choice of web development.

2. Web Fundamentals

This course was created by Google. Its point is clear from the title: it teaches the fundamentals of a web experience. A web developer should be able to create fast, reliable, integrated, and engaging websites. Whether you’re a new developer or a pro, you’ll find these resources useful anyway.

Some of the code labs include:

  • Debugging service workers
  • Your first progressive web app
  • Your first offline web app
  • Your first multi-device site
  • Create frictionless payments

The best part is that all these resources are free to access.

3. Web Design for Everybody: Basics of Web Development & Coding Specialization

If you’re looking for free web development courses of an immense value, you’ll find them on Coursera. There are several options to choose from. This course is provided by the University of Michigan, and it’s perfect for beginners.

The downside is that you don’t get a certificate for attending a free course. However, if your goal is to learn web design without dealing with mandatory assignments that would impose the need to hire EduBirdie, this is the course for you. If you do want a certificate, you’ll go through a specialization to earn it. But of course, that can’t come for free.

Coursera is a great source for e-learning because it’s well organized. The platform includes discussion boards, where you can connect with the instructors and peer learners. It comes close to the real on-campus learning experience.

4. Khan Academy Computer Programming Courses

You want 100% free learning resources with no hidden costs? Khan Academy is the place. You’ll find beginner-friendly lessons that are perfect as a support for web design projects for high school students. If you’re at school and you don’t know how to solve a programming assignment, you’ll find great explanations at this website.

But if you’re ready to go above the basics, you’ll still be happy with the resources at this website. This particular computer programming course offers introductory content for drawing and animation, HTML/CSS, SQL, and more beginner resources. But you’ll also find lessons on advanced programming for natural simulations, games, and visualizations. It’s a great place to start.

Web Development Isn’t Easy, But You Can Master It!

Not everyone has the commitment to become a great web development. Many people start just because they want to build their own websites, but give up somewhere along the process. If you really want to learn, you can. However, you should be ready to make a strong commitment.

All online resources are flexible, but that doesn’t mean you should be too casual with them. Pick a course, put it in your schedule, and complete it. No matter what career you choose, the skill of web design will help you drive it forward. That should at least inspire you to try.

Did you choose a course? Good luck!
