Hieu Nguyen, better known by his artist name Kelogsloops, is a watercolor and digital illustrator based in Melbourne, Australia. In his illustrations he fuses deep-hued watercolor with semi-realistic portraiture and experimenting with gold leaf, creating elegantly semi-abstract scenes, with the main focus theme of femininity, connection, and deep emotion.

Kelogsloops creates his works of art by mixing realism, abstract and surreal art. In recent years, he has made a name for himself in the digital art world, and has developed large Instagram, Youtube and Deviantart followings. After a express interest in fantasy art, digital art, and manga styles, Hieu studied fantasy, abstract and surreal styles. Colour temperature is really important to the mood and emotion of his paintings, heavily using the contrast between warm and cool in his color palette.

His work is inspired and driven by a lot of personal introspection, he draw upon his own experiences at the specific moment in time, which can be a feeling, a thought, a memory, or even a life event. Nguyen believes that if he uses his own thoughts, feelings and experiences in his work, it would connect with others. He desire that his work to connect to people, to resonate, to tell a story and to make people think and feel.
