What’s better than getting to design your own home on the web with amazing artisan products? Getting PAID to do it! myWebRoom, an online design sandbox and bookmarking interface, has announced their first Addictive Design contest offering a $1,000 prize in promotion for the release of its newly-updated Designer tool, which will allow for customizing, saving, and publishing its user-generated web browsing rooms to social media.

The myAHAroom promotion is being produced in conjunction with AHAlife, a boutique discovery marketplace for artisan goods. The $1,000 in AHAlife credit will be awarded to the most creative design as chosen by a panel of myWebRoom and AHAlife curators. The prize will be good for anything on the AHAlife website, including many of the products available through myWebroom.

From September 24 to October 8, design a Room using at least ten (10) items from their extensive catalogue of AHAlife products and then use the new CAMERA icon in the new Designer to save the Room and then simply publish it to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, or Google+ with the #myAHAroom contest hashtag and the #AddictiveDesign promotion hashtag. That’s it! A collective panel of AHAlife and myWebRoom curators will sift through the entries and choose the most creative rooms. The selected finalists will be posted to Facebook on October 9, where the myWebRoom Facebook fans decide who will win the $1,000 AHAlife credit and be the ultimate Addictive Designer!

The newly-updated functionality of myWebroom's Designer will allow users to save unlimited room designs and share them with friends across multiple social networks. With over 6,500 products ranging from tech gadgets to sofas and lamps, myWebRoom can offer large amounts of variety to their 210,000 users worldwide. The rooms themselves have over 145 different room styles to choose from, ranging from simple mid-century styles to a Batman-inspired cave. That, combined with the number of items available, offers over 34 million types of user combinations.

Since the items in the rooms serve as conduits to the rest of the internet, myWebroom focuses on giving users a visual interface for their bookmarking function, This new model of expressing your web lifestyle beautifully shows off a user's personality and tastes using the self-styled living space that is each custom room. The hand-curated items let people design with a plethora of products that are often only available in boutique stores or high-end markets, which is why the myAHAlife contest stands as a prime example of how users can experiment with products before owning them.
